Its always inspiring to photograph a wedding at a new venue and my inspection of the superb Southdowns Manor for Simon and Alex’s day, certainly raised my excitement for some creative wedding photo opportunities. Set in the lovely West Sussex countryside it was v close for their church ceremony at St George’s, Trotton.
The champagne was popping while Alex & the girls were having their hair / make up finished (watch out for those corks & fizzy spills !). The mood was generally ‘expectant’ and full of fun, indeed the most excited person was the bride’s mother, who could hardly sit still ! The hotel were doing an excellent job of preparing the banqueting space and after a few snaps here and there, it was off to the Elsted Inn down the road. Here Simon was looking dashing & raring to go supported by his brother/best man and suited comrades.
St Georges church in Trotton is v pretty and the nearby pink blossom blended with the flowers, flower girl’s/bridesmaids dresses, all adding to the ‘picturesque factor’. Alex looked gorgeous as she arrived and walked down the path on dad’s arm. It was a beautiful, touching ceremony. The vicar you could describe as mildy ‘eccentric’ and he had a wonderful warm wit and personal touch.
A few quick photos afterwards and then Simon and Alex journeyed off in the vintage Rolls (plus bottle of champers) to sip the first ‘taste of married life’. The party was well underway when they arrived at Southdowns, and then more celebrations racked up accordingly. A superb dinner, speeches and evening dancing completed a wonderful wedding day ‘bonanza’. I’m very happy to be a Southdowns Manor Wedding Photographer !
